ERASMUS+ SPORT

Erasmus+ in the field of sport

Erasmus+ Sport Erasmus+ Sport is the EU’s central funding programme for the sports sector. It supports projects that promote European exchange, the development of sport, and the encouragement of physical activity and health. The programme aims to strengthen organisations, coaches, and clubs, foster innovation, and enhance European cooperation in the field of sport.

Funding is provided, among other things, for the mobility of sport staff – including exchanges, job shadowing, or further training of coaches and professionals at partner organisations across Europe. Cooperation projects are also supported, in which several European partners jointly develop new approaches to training, club development, inclusion, or education. In addition, non-profit international sport events with social impact – for example on topics such as health, volunteering, or social inclusion – can receive financial support.

Erasmus+ Sport focuses on key future-oriented topics: These include the promotion of physical activity and health prevention, the strengthening of inclusion and equal opportunities, the development of training and education methods, as well as the prevention of violence, discrimination, and doping. A particular focus is also placed on improving good governance and supporting volunteer structures in sport.

In Austria, Erasmus+ Sport is managed by the OeAD as the National Agency.
